Power surges can happen at any moment. They appear from several causes like faulty gear, storms, extreme changes in voltage to a circuit or supply deficiencies from your power company. Because of greater complexity in electronic wiring, the slightest burst in electricity may result in substantial ruin to electrical components resulting in permanent damage.

Often power surges are a result of an interruption in the flow of power, then established directing or again electricity back into the infrastructure, such as by lightning. The live cable or main power line in a surge protector includes an additional linked connection that feeds into an earth wire. A ground wire’s purpose is to direct any additional current safely to the ground. The surge connection in the protector stays inactive until a larger than normal voltage seems. This extra current is then securely redirected through the excess earth wire, directly into the floor. This averts more current than ordinary from flowing into your appliances efficiently ensuring that they are protected from any harm that can be caused by power surges.
